Where In the world is KAZA?!

Bonjour Bella's and Bello's,

{*popping head out of hole*}
Noooo, I haven't gone off to live in Ibiza (although, geez louise, it does sound good!) but life felt it needed to punch us in the nose a bit, this year. I was hesitant to talk about what has been going on but have received many emails and phone calls and just could not get the air enough to answer until now and I am sorry for that.

So, here goes, kids:
After the Christmas Popup, my dads health had become worse. He has 9 lives, I have happily learned  I should probably add "feline" to my family heritage information-lol. Heading into Spring, I received a phone call from my mum telling me that our beautiful family home in Canada had been burglarized and burnt to the ground. Because my father was in and out of hospital, the Insurance had lapsed, in all the confusion. Not one nook was salvageable. All childhood pictures, family heirlooms... 3500 sq ft of house reduced to an 8" high x 54' pile of ash. Since the insurance had briefly lapsed, the Canadian police dept closed the case without even bothering with a criminal investigation. It still startles me to to write about it. I was not going to talk about it, but really have felt the need to explain to you guys after getting to know you all for the past few years. The picture (below) is jarring and I hesitated posting this, but felt my simple words could never explain enough.

Shortly after, I went to Florida to help my parents and bring them up north to see their home in Canada and my father landed back in hospital, in Boston, where he has been for the last few months. KAZA was on my mind, but shaking off the bad stuff has been incredibly difficult.

 They couldn't, however, take everything. The day after the fire, we went to see our home, the birds were singing, the ducks were quacking and the sun set, like nothing happened. It showed me that life continues and the only thing we can do is move forward.

Soooo, thas'all about that sad stuff.

{*turns page*}Autumn for me always meant looking forward to 4th quarter and designing new lines for Christmas-which is always so much fun. Our catalogue is and has been ready for wholesale, the website is up (www.kazawholesale.com) and I am designing again.

So all this in a nutshell; 2013 has been a stinker of a year, but we are moving forward.

I am sure there will be a ton of questions and I will try to answer them all- the biggest one being:

Will there be a KAZA Popup this year?
 No. In light of all that has happened in the past year, we will be dealing strictly in wholesale this year. However, some discontinued KAZA lines and one-of-a-kind finds will be available on the KAZA Etsy account (kazashop). A future popup, however, is certainly not out of the question.
The last 10 months has been a hiccup in KAZA's direction and certainly not an end. I'm too stubborn and too fidgety to not design.We hope you will continue following us on this journey.

Thanks for sitting with me, bella's--I've missed this. :o)

Happy Autumn!

Ciao bella's
